Wheel of fortune and Google reviews for independent shops

In a shop, the wheel of fortune does two things: it turns a purchase into a Google review, and it gives a reason to come back. Here is how to set it up for a concept store, a homeware shop, a florist or a bookshop.

What gets in the way for an independent shop

The customer buys and leaves

A shop sees many customers it may never see again. Without a reason to return, the purchase stays a one-off.

Margins to protect

Giving away a whole product is expensive; a small discount on the next purchase pleases and often leads to a bigger basket.

Busy periods

Christmas, Mother’s Day, back to school: that is when most new customers come in, and the best time for the wheel.

An in-store attraction

The wheel catches the eye in the window and starts a conversation at the counter, without a heavy promotion.

How it works with Voxtya

  1. The QR code at the till and in the window. The stand by the terminal, the poster or roll-up banner from the print pack for busy periods: “Your review, then try your luck”.
  2. The review, then the wheel. The customer enters a first name and email, opens your Google review page, then the wheel unlocks. Their rating is never asked.
  3. Vouchers. €5 off a minimum spend, 10% off the next purchase, a small gift (card, candle, bookmark), and “Thanks, see you soon”.
  4. The right validity. Codes are valid 30 days by default; extend it after Christmas to bring people back in January.
  5. Validate at the till. The customer shows the code and you mark it as used in the winners list.

How much is the wheel for a shop?
It is included in Review collection, €29 a month (€23 billed annually). 30-day trial.
Which prizes suit a shop?
Vouchers tied to a minimum spend, money off the next purchase, small gifts. A “Thanks, see you soon” segment limits the cost.
Is it legal?
A free game offered to every customer is common practice. For Google, the rule is never to reward a positive review: the wheel is offered after the review, whatever it says.
Do I need written terms?
Simply display the possible prizes, how long codes are valid and the “one play per customer” rule; adapt to your situation.
How do I limit plays?
With a delay between two plays per email.
Can the wheel work in the window?
Yes: a QR code in the window draws passers-by, and the print pack’s roll-up banner works well during the holidays.
