Which resources help you market a local business?

Marketing a neighbourhood business comes down to four jobs: being found on Google (your listing and your website), reassuring people with recent reviews, turning visitors into bookings or visits, and staying present on social media. This page gathers everything we have written on these topics: 18 step-by-step guides, free tools to take action, software comparisons and the latest blog articles.

In which order should you read the guides?

Start with what brings customers in without extra effort, then move on to what brings them back:

Guides, articles or comparisons: which should you read?

  • A guide when you want the complete method on a topic, with steps, templates and an FAQ. Allow 10 to 15 minutes.
  • A blog article when you have one precise question: a 1-star review to handle, a missing review, a Google rule.
  • A comparison when you are choosing between two pieces of software: features, public pricing and who each tool is made for.

How do you fit this in when you are short on time?

Block half an hour a week, always on the same day. In the first week, run the visibility check and fix the two or three issues it flags on your Google listing. In the second, put a review QR code where your customers wait or pay. In the third, reply to the reviews you have not answered yet, starting with the most recent and the most negative ones. Then keep the pace: half an hour is enough to answer new reviews, post a photo and check your opening hours. Each guide ends with a short action list to help you keep that rhythm.

Where should you start, depending on your trade?

The general guides apply to every local business. To go faster, read the one for your trade: hair salon and barber, beauty salon, bakery, wine shop, tradesperson or B&B. Restaurants will find examples in every guide and on the restaurants page.

To take action right away, every tool is on the free tools for local businesses page.

Are Voxtya resources really free?
Yes. Guides, tools, comparisons and articles are free and need no account. Only the visibility check and some tools ask for your business name to run the calculation.
Where should I start if I am short on time?
Run the visibility check: in one minute it scores your presence on Google and in AI assistants and gives you the 3 things to fix first. Each action links to the guide that explains it step by step.
Are the guides suited to my trade?
The general guides (reviews, Google listing, website, bookings, social media) apply to every local business. Trade guides cover hairdressers, beauty salons, bakeries, wine shops, tradespeople and B&Bs.
Is the content up to date?
Each guide shows its last update date. We review them when Google changes its rules (reviews, listing, local search) and this page lists the latest blog articles automatically.
I would rather be shown: is that possible?
Yes. Book a demo: a real person shows you on a video call how Voxtya handles your reviews, website, bookings and social media. You can also try it free for 30 days.
How long does a guide take to read?
Between 10 and 15 minutes. Each guide opens with a short answer and a table of contents: jump straight to the part you need, then come back to the rest later.
Can I print or share a guide with my team?
Yes. The guides are public pages: send the link to your team or print the page from your browser. The reply and message templates can be copied as they are.
Does the advice apply to small businesses without a website?
Yes. Most of the advice (Google listing, reviews, social media) needs no website. The website guide explains when to create one and what it must contain to be useful.
How do I hear about new guides?
This page updates itself with every new guide or article. You can also follow the blog, which regularly publishes short answers to local business owners’ questions.
